Food Bank February in DFW

It’s officially Food Bank February at FB Society, which means we’re turning good food into an even better cause. Big thanks to our friends at Local Profile (shoutout to Ruth Alcivar!) for helping spread the word, because this mission matters more than ever.

Here’s the not-so-fun stat, more than 744,000 people in North Texas face food insecurity, and nearly one in five of them are kids. That’s a whole lot of empty plates in our own backyard. As Jack Gibbons, CEO of FB Society, put it perfectly—this isn’t about “someone else.” These are our neighbors, our communities, and folks we pass every day. And if you know anything about FB Society, it’s that we believe the table is where connection—and change—happens.

So how does Food Bank February work? Easy. Almost too easy. Starting February 1, just dine at a participating FB Society restaurant on Tuesdays, and boom—you’re part of the movement. Feeling extra generous? You can add a donation to your check any day of the month, and here’s the magic: every dollar provides three meals through the North Texas Food Bank. Trisha Cunningham, their president and CEO, says it best—every gift makes a meaningful difference. No cape required.

Bottom line, this is one of the simplest ways to do some serious good. You eat, someone else eats. That’s a win-win if we’ve ever seen one. Bring your appetite, and let’s help end hunger one meal at a time. 🍽️💙
